Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
In my last post, we dealt with the significance of the seed, and we began to see the unfolding of the epic struggle between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent. In way of review, we saw the following:
* The Seed of the Woman is Ultimately Christ Jesus, but it also can include his bloodline, and now the Church.
* The Seed of the Serpent is Satan, his demons, and those people which would be influenced and controlled by Satan and his demons, aka - the generation of vipers.
So, how does that play out through history? This post will deal with the struggle during the Days of Noah.
Noah's life began during the days of Enoch. Enoch, you will recall from reading Genesis 5:24, walked with God and was not, for God took Him. The New Testament writer of Hebrews tells us that by faith he was translated that he should not see death. Enoch was Noah's great grandfather. After Enoch, mankind continued to rebel against God and kindle His wrath against them. But Noah, walked in the ways of Enoch and led his family to do so as well, and as a result, "he found grace in the eyes of the Lord (Genesis 6:8)."
However, during Noah's day, there was a race of giants (Nephilim) who corrupted mankind. They were the unholy offspring of the Sons of God (Probably fallen angels, which did not keep their first estate) and the daughters of man. This so provoked the anger of God that he decided to destroy man from off the face of the earth. BUT NOAH!!! The Seed of the Woman was spared through this one, and only one left, who followed in the ways of God. The seed of the Serpent was cut off, but not for long, because the serpent (Satan) wasn't cut off.
After the flood, Noah backslid became drunk and naked. His 3rd son Ham, gazed upon his nakedness (Genesis 9:22), possibly a lustful gaze, and God put a curse upon his offspring.
Gen 9:25 And he said, Cursed [be] Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
With this act of rebellion began an ungodly line again, which would rebel against God, persecute the followers of the true and living God, and unite the world in rebellion and idolatry.
Gen 10:6 And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
Gen 10:7 And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.
Gen 10:8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
Many Bible scholars as well as the extra biblical account of the history of man, the Book of Jasher, claim that Noah was alive during the days of Nimrod and the early years of Abraham. In fact, when you do the math based on the generations of Seth found in Genesis 11, you will discover that Noah was alive for the first 60 years of the life of Abraham. What does this mean? This means that Noah and Abraham were alive during the days of Nimrod, the grandson of Ham, who became the first dictator of the first world empire.
You will recall from studying Genesis 10 & 11 (Ref. Post on the Tower of Babel and the Coming Kingdom of Anti-Christ), that Nimrod built a world empire centered around the tower of Babel, which centered on a false religious system, from which all false religion came. It was a political, economic, and religious empire, exactly as the Antichrist's kingdom is to be. Noah would have seen his offspring go off into idol worship, the founding and building of the Tower of Babel, the cities of Ninevah, Calah and Resen, which became the capital of the Assyrian Empire.
Nimrod and his kingdom made war against the descendants of Shem, building a ruthless empire that controlled the world. There were only a few followers of the true and living God left during the days of Nimrod: Noah, Shem, Abraham and a few others; and these had to follow God in secret and hiding.
THIS GIVES US NEW INSIGHT INTO THE DAYS OF NOAH!!!
Mat 24:37 But as the days of Noe [were], so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Luk 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
Jesus said that it would be as it were in the days of Noah, when he returned! Guess what 2 ancient cities have been discovered recently? Give up? Maybe you guessed it! It was the cities of Ninevah (Now Mosul, Iraq) and Calah, also in Iraq (The last name for the city of Calah was Nimrud! No I'm not making this up!).
The Picture above shows how the ancient city of Ninevah is being excavated and yes, even reconstructed! Could it be that the actual Kingdom of Nimrod is being rebuilt in our day? Could this be the future Kingdom of Antichrist!?! Is this really what we are doing in Iraq?
As we dig further into the truths of Scripture, studying to show ourselves approved unto God, we see it becoming clear that just as in Noah's day, we are seeing history repeat itself. The Seed of the Woman (Noah, Shem and Abraham) was persecuted by the seed of the Serpent (descendants of Ham, especially Nimrod). Some of the same cities, which were built during Noah's day are being rediscovered in our day (Ninevah and Calah, as well as Babylon). The world is quickly moving toward rebuilding Babylon, forming a New World Order (World Government) and persecuting the True Church. We can expect all of these things to strengthen and excellerate as we get closer to the return of the Lord!
