It seems that everywhere we turn, we are seeing documentaries and hearing new reports of ancient prophecies regarding the year 2012, in particular the date 12/21/2012. Everyone from Nostradamus to Art Bell are supposedly predicting the end of the world on or around that date. There's a major motion picture out in theaters about the year 2012.
Why? You might ask! It seems that the ancient Mayan Civilization in South America had a calendar or long count that predicted time as we know it to end on December 21,2012 - the Winter Solstice. There is debate as to whether it is predicting the end of the world or just that the world clock (long count) will be reset on 12/21/2012.
Again, everywhere we turn there is predictions of doom, gloom and cataclysmic events. Societies are supposed to come crumbling down, perhaps even civilation and life itself are to end. So, what is the truth?
The truth is that the world will not end on 12/21/12!!! Why so certain? Because we have not yet begun the 7 yrs. of Tribulation, which will be marked by the confirming of a 7 yr. peace pact between Israel and the Pallestinians. This will be followed by 7 yrs. of Jacob's trouble, known as the Great Tribulation. At the beginning of this period, Christ will return in the clouds and rapture His Bride; at the end, Christ will return all the way to the earth with clouds of people, angels and of course His glory to execute judgment upon all. This will then usher in the 1,000 yrs. of peace and righteousness known as "The Millennium or Millennial Reign of Christ." Ref. read Revelation 19:11 - 20:6! After this, and only after this will a New Heaven and New Earth be created.
As for cataclysmic events, It is very possible! Especially, if the world has entered into the Great Tribulation. That period will be marked by 3 series of 7 judgment: Seal Judgments, Trumpet Judgments and Vial or Bowl Judgments. Each series will be more severe and intense than the previous one. Some mentioned are War (Rev. 6:4), a massive earthquake (Rev. 6:12), a meteor hitting the earth (Rev. 8:10-11), loathsome sores (Rev. 16:2), and the sea turning to blood (Rev. 16:3). These are only of few of the great judgments which will take place during that time of trouble such as has not been since there was a nation.
BUT FRIENDS, WAIT!!! WE DON'T HAVE TO BE HERE WHEN THEY COME! WE CAN ESCAPE THE WRATH TO COME! THE KEY IS TO BE AN OVERCOMER IN JESUS CHRIST (REV. 3:10 & Heb. 9:28)! TRUST JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR, IF YOU HAVEN'T; AND LIVE PATIENTLY FOR HIM! AND LOOK FOR THAT BLESSED HOPE! MAY GOD BLESS!
Excellent! When I first heard of the fallen angel view I had a hard time thinking it to be true.
ReplyDeleteBut after prayer it is in my opinion the only one of the two that makes sense in context when you do the Hebrew word study. Where else could this Evil race of giants come from? According to Josephus the first century Jewish historian they were of such a look as to be evil unlike anything they had ever seen and the bones of the Nephilim
were kept on display up to the time that Jesus Christ was walking the earth during his ministry.The Bible does say after all "As it was in the days of Noah so shall it be in the days of the coming of the son of man".
We need only to look at the great interest on the part of genetic engineers in "cloning" and "Hybridization" the "blending" of DNA from plants and animals to see that they are making a great attempt to PLAY God. Great post, and I look forward to what God has in store for each one of us....
