Troubled on Every Side

2Cr 4:8 [We are] troubled on every side, yet not distressed; [we are] perplexed, but not in despair;
2Cr 4:9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

As I was thinking about writing this post, I thought of these verses from the New Testament. I understand that Paul is speaking to the Church and our need to die to self and be made alive to Christ regardless of our situation; however, I also thought about making application to Israel as well. They truly are "TROUBLED ON EVERY SIDE!" They are surrounded by armies and enemies, yet they shouldn't despair, because God has not forsaken them either.

As you can see from the map above, [The green represents the Muslim nations and Israel is alone in the midst.] Israel is already surrounded by armies. And there is only one natural route to invade Israel, and it happens to be the most natural battlefied in the world - ARMAGEDDON/MEGIDDO. Revelation 16:14-16 describe a time, during which I believe is the Tribulation period, in which demonic spirits will be sent out to summons the kings of the earth to the battle of the Great Day of the Lord. Verse 16 tells us that they will gather them together at Armageddon. That day is coming. All of the armies of the world will come against Israel, and it will appear that all is lost. But Revelation 19 tells us the outcome. Christ/the Messiah will return with the armies of Heaven; and just as with the Battle of Gog and Magog, the enemies of God's people will be defeated without firing a shot. Christ will just speak the word and the battle will be won.

What a comfort it is to know that Christ is in control. As Zechariah 1 teaches, he is patroling the earth awaiting that final victory when he will return and take over, and we will rule and reign with Him. Israel may take heart, and so can we knowing that victory is assured. We are awaiting that final victory. And we join with John the Revelator in praying, "Even so come quickly Lord Jesus!"

I ask you, are you ready to meet Him when he returns? Have you surrendered to Him as absolute Savior and Lord? If not call on the Lord and be saved! Be saved today, while you still have an opportunity. Repent of your sins and commit to following Jesus Christ all the way to the grave! He loves you, and God's grace that brings salvation is appearing to you! Don't miss Him for the world!

  1. This map is very clear who protects Israel. Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is to pray for the return of our Lord Jesus. Several co-workers, frieds and family are now reading this blog either online or printed copies and showing great interest in the last days as well as asking more about Jesus. Praise be to the King of Kings.
