Keep Looking Up!

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

As I sat down to write this morning, I was reminded of how we need to do as David did and encourage ourselves in the Lord. It is so easy to get down in today's world. We look around and all we see is evidence that we are living in a fallen world, which could never be or true home.

I wonder if Enoch ever got discouraged as he was walking with God those 300 years before his translation. I wonder if Noah got discouraged during those 120 years he was preparing the ark. Sure, they knew that God would protect them, but so many more would perish in the flood to come. They knew family members would perish, as well as friends. They could see the time quickly approaching and would preach about it, but the vast majority were not listening.

It is much the same in our day. We preach and try to warn the lost. We try to get the church to wake up, but still, "While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumber and sleep." If we're not careful, we'll get discouraged. Well not this morning! This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it! This might just be the day the Lord returns. Paul wrote to Titus and told him that we're looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing.

As we look around and see abortion, homicide, war, famine, and pestilence realize it's God's call to look up. As we see Israel being attacked both physically by Hamas and in the media, look up. As we see the move toward a world government and economy, look up! As we see terrorism at home and abroad, look up! As we see nation against nation, look up. As we see earthquakes in divers places, look up! Sure times are tough, but they're also exciting. We truly do live in the most exciting times the world has ever known. And today, we look forward with happy anticipation of the day when Christ will rule in righteousness from the throne of His father David. As the world groans in travail, let's look up! Be strong and of good courage in these last days!

  1. The Sanhedrin government was reestablished in October of 2004, at Tiberias after 1600 years of non-existence. What significance is this with Bible prophecy? I have read that all the articles to fill the temple have been recreated including the clothing worn by the priest and they have the materials ready to start construction on building the temple.

  2. Thanks Linda. I think it is very significant, because the temple will be rebuilt during the first 42 months of the tribulation period. The 2 witness (Lampstands standing before God) minister during this time. To see all of it coming to be before our very eyes is so exciting. Look back at my article on the 2 lampstands and I kind of touched on it. Maybe I'll devote an entire post to it, once I've thoroughly researched it. Thanks for spreading the word!
