Distress of Nations

Luk 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
Luk 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Luk 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Luk 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

We could not be living in a day when a more distressing time had come upon the nations. Jesus said that the generation that saw his return, would be a generation in which the nations of the earth are perplexed and distressed. Look at some of these headlines and see if you think that the nations of the earth are distressed.

As you can see from these headlines, everywhere we turn, there is distress of nations. There is political distress, military distress, economic distress, and spiritual distress. It's no wonder that Jesus said in the next verse that, "Men's hearts would be failing for fear of those things coming upon the earth." When we see the New World Order coming to fruition in our lifetime, and with it our economic, personal, national and political sovereignty going out the window; and then we read headlines like these every night we are tempted to worry and fret. We can see that the world is ready for the Antichrist to step in and take the rains and solve it's problems, yet while he and they will be crying peace, peace, THERE WILL BE NO PEACE! Because you can't have true peace without the Prince of Peace!

So, this is our peace in the midst of the storm!!! Christ will not leave us nor forsake us! He will come back just in the nick of time. To borrow His words, "All these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet." Christ will return and put an end to the conflict. He will fulfill the promises made to Israel; and He will rule and reign from the throne of His Father David for 1,000 yrs. So, keep looking up! Our redemption is drawing nigh!
