If the Foundations be Destroyed...

The Psalmist poses the question in Psalm 11:3, "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" And all around us the foundations are being destroyed! Jesus warned of this in giving the "signs of His coming, and of the end of the world" in Matthew 24:1-8. He said that false christs would arise and deceive many. He said that there would be wars and rumors of wars, nation would rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. He said there would be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in divers places. He said "All these are the beginning of sorrows." He tells us that we will be hated of all nations for His sake, but not to worry beforehand what we'll say when we're put on trial for our faith, b/c the Holy Spirit would give us what to say in that hour. Friends, we are quickly approaching that hour! We must be ready always to give a defense for the hope that lies within us! In Luke's account (Luke 21), he said that there would be signs in the Sun, Moon and Stars and the sea and the waves would be roaring, but when we see these things coming to pass, "Look up, and lift up your head, for your redemption draweth nigh!"

Jesus had just described the foundations of society and nature being destroyed. And as we look around and read the headlines, THE FOUNDATIONS ARE BEING DESTROYED!

• In the religious world, the Shias are bringing chaos in an attempt to usher in the reign of the Mahdi, and all of Islam is becoming more fundamental and radical. The Sunni Muslim Brotherhood wanting purify Egypt and make it more fundamental, Hezbollah and Hamas making moves toward occupying the West Bank, and The Wahabis/Al Qaeda carrying out suicide missions can all be pointed to as examples. Yet at the same time more Muslims are converting to Christ now than have in the last 1400+ years!


• Our President is supporting a U.N. Blasphemy Law being pushed by Islamic nations that would make it a hate crime to speak against Mohammed and Islam in any way. You can read more about that here.


• Iran is hellbent on obtaining nuclear weapons.


• In nature, we are witnessing earthquakes weekly, it seems, as we saw the devastation in Japan last week.


• The sea and the waves are roaring with Tsunamis!


• The Marriage and the Home are under assault through divorce and a push for Gay marriage.


• In Wisconsin radical Unions are leading children (1st and 2nd graders) to go and chant against the governor, and


• The List could go on indefinitely!

As you can see, THE FOUNDATIONS ARE BEING DESTROYED!

So, this begs the question, "What can the righteous do?" What can we do in these last days? The Psalmist already answered the question in Psalm 11:1 - "In the Lord, put I my trust!" He says, "How say ye to my soul, flee as a bird to the mountains?" Now, more than ever is the time for the Church of the Lord Jesus to stand up united against sin and Satan and be counted!

What can we do?

• Keep on believing! As the song writer put it, "Though all Hell assail me, I SHALL NOT BE MOVED! On the Rock of Ages, I SHALL NOT BE MOVED!"


• Keep on sharing the Gospel! Jesus said, "This gospel of the kingdom shall be published in all the world, and then shall the end come."


• Keep on Trusting! My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness! Why? All other ground is sinking sand. Trust the Holy Spirit to give you the words and strength you need to make it! Trust Jesus Christ and His shed blood to cover your sins and gain you entrance into Heaven. And Trust God the Father that His plan and program are coming about just as He said it would in His Word!

Friends, let's not be worried or dismayed! Let's redeem the time for the days are evil, and take as many of our friends and loved one's to Heaven with us when Jesus returns! God Bless, and MARANATHA!!!
