Is the Prince of Persia causing Riots in Egypt?

"Then said he unto me, fear not Daniel: for from the first day thou didst set thine heart to understand and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard; and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the Kingdom of Persia withstood me for one and twenty days." ~Daniel 10:12-13a

"I will turn thee back and put hooks in thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth; thee and all thine armies...Persia, Ethiopia, and Lybia with them, all of them with shield and helmet; Gomer and all his bands; the house of Togarmah and all his bands; and many people with thee." ~Ezekiel 38:4-6

In Daniel chapter 10, we are introduced to a being called in Scripture, "the prince of the Kingdom of Persia." Now without spending an entire post on demonology [the study of demons], I will just ask that you take my word for it that Scripture teaches in Ephesians 6:12 that we wrestle against "principalities, powers and rulers." These are all names for a demonic hierarchy which works to control the kingdoms of this world. Behind the scenes, just beyond the visible realm, there is a war going on and powers at work which are influencing seats of government. That, and not a literal prince in the sense that we think of, is who we are introduced to in the book of Daniel. The term "prince of Persia" is referring to a demonic spirit that has been at work in the region of the Middle East and in particular the country of Iran since the days of Daniel. It was/is such a powerful demon spirit that Michael the Archangel was sent from God to withstand it. Daniel teaches btw that Michael is the defender of Israel, and as we get into the meat of this post, we will see that if God had not set his Warrior Angel over this people/nation, it would've ceased to exist a long time ago! With that being said, this demonic being has set up some pretty strong and powerful fortresses/strongholds in that region of the world, and one of its primary purposes is to fight against the people of God and the nation of Israel. It was true in Daniel's day, and it is true in our day!

Now, we fast fwd in time to the present. As we have directed our attention to numerous times throughout the history of this blog, Ezekiel 38-39 describe an end-times battle that is going to take place in which God Himself will put hooks into the jaws of a great army from the north along with an Islamic coalition and bring them down upon the mountains of Israel for him to judge them for their harsh treatment of Israel. This is described in detail in these chapters and alluded to in Zechariah 6. I believe that this army from the North is Russia and again her allies will be the Muslim nations that are being influenced by Persia, which is Iran.

Now, I could spend a vast amount of time talking about the emerging Russo-Chinese-Iranian coalition and how Russian scientists have been working behind the scenes to help the Iranians enrich uranium for the making of atomic weaponry. However, I'd like to focus instead upon the Persian [For the remainder of this post, I will use the biblical name of Persian instead of Iranian.] influence throughout the Middle East.

In order to understand the present situation in the Middle East, I feel it incumbent upon me to give a brief history lesson. In 1979, Jimmy Carter negotiated a peace treaty between Egypt's President, Anwar Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menacham Begin. Sadat's Vice President at the time was Hosni Mubarak. Earlier that year, the Shah of Iran fell and fled into exile. Another exile, Ayatollah Khomeini returned from Paris and declared victory. On Nov. 4, 1979 the U.S. Embassy in Tehran was stormed and a hostage crisis ensued. What most do not realize however was that this year was significant in the history of radical Shiite Islam. A Muslim "Prophet" had prophesied hundreds of years before that the year 1979 would be significant, that Egypt's President would sign a treaty with the Jews and later be assassinated. Sadat was assassinated in 1981 by the Muslim Brotherhood, the same group that had urged him to sign the treaty in the first place, who were more than willing to make sure that the prophecy was fulfilled. What was significant is that this year marked the beginning of a new Muslim era according to the "prophet." Meanwhile in Persia, the Ayatollah seized control and gave the power to the extremist Mullahs. One close disciple of the Ayatollahs was none other than a young man by the name of Ahmedinijad!

Now fast fwd 32 years. Ahmedinijad is in control of Persia and Mubarak's days seem to be numbered in Egypt. While the riots are being portrayed by our liberal media as peaceful protests in favor of democracy, have they stopped to consider who is the most powerful political force in Egypt likely to take control if the rioters succeed? You guessed it! None other than the Muslim Brotherhood which is allied with Persia. Just as Carter allowed Iran to come under the control of the radical jihadists, now it seems Obama with his wait and see approach to foreign policy is willing to allow the same thing to occur in Egypt. If this happens, the Suez Canal is likely to be closed to U.S. Ships which will cause oil prices to skyrocket and the price at the pump to go out the roof. The only remaining ally that we'll have in the region at that point will be Saudi Arabia which is 2/3 Shiite Muslim and long been a friend to the Mullahs needing to make pilgrimages to Mecca and Medina. As for Persia, they have long been funneling money into Hezbollah and Hamas which now control the Palestinian territories of the West Bank, Lebanon and Syria. To read more about this go here. If and when Mubarak falls, Israel will be surrounded on every side not just by Muslims, but by Persian controlled Muslim Extremists whose chief goal is to drive Israel into the sea!

All of this is foretold in Scripture! The prophet Ezekiel describes this end times battle which will occur. Russia, along with Persia and the Northern African nation of Lybia and Ethiopia [probably Somalia, which was a part of ancient Ethiopia] and many others will come against Israel. You can add Turkey to this list as the ancient tribal people of Gomer and Togarmah mentioned in Genesis 10 settled the region of modern day Turkey, which is becoming more and more radical. You can possibly add China as the people of Gog and Magog settled the regions of modern day Russia and China. Persia is also financing Al Qaeda, which is reasserting itself in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Again, the prince of Persia's main goal in the annihilation of Israel, and it seems that Persia is gaining influence and power throughout the Middle East region. The Army will be so vast that only God will be able to get credit when they are driven to the northermost regions and 5/6 of them are destroyed!

Friends, this all points to the fact that we are in the last days! Jesus could return at any moment! And until He does, we are in a real battle! This battle is not carnal and fleshly, it's spiritual! Demonic spirits and Angelic spirits are fighting; Good and Evil are fighting and the real battle is for the souls of men, women, and young people. Our time to reach others is quickly coming to a close. We must reach all we can with what time we have left! Behold the Bridegroom cometh, go ye out to meet Him! Are your lamps trimmed and ready? If not, get ready to meet Him today! I'm no longer looking for the signs, because they are already there happening in front of our eyes every day! I'm listening for the sound!
